A herd of horses on Saturday before dawn ran under a train near the Wiewiecko station in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The animals probably escaped from a nearby foundation.
The accident occurred on railway tracks in the area of the Wiewiecko station (Węgorzyno commune, Łobez district). A herd of horses suddenly ran right under the freight train.
"We received the application around 3.35 a.m.," says junior aspirant Szymon Martula, spokesman for the Łobez District Police Headquarters. "The policemen who drove to the scene revealed the corpses of seven horses." Two lay directly under the locomotive, and five impact forces turned far beyond the tracks.
The horses probably escaped from the Brzeźnica foundation in Insk. The Foundation deals with the rescue of horses that are neglected and starved. They're in a fenced area. The police will determine how they got out of them.
